This Week’s Potential Buyer Of Paramount: Sony
Competition is good, and necessary for a healthy society. If the consumer has fewer options, there is less innovation, higher prices and a lower quality product. Monopolies or oligopolies have never worked out well. So all that being said, don’t shoot the messenger — this news is out of my control. The owners of Paramount really want to sell it. They’re in a bind that is definitely their own fault yet they’d never admit it; the level of Paramount’s debt is surprisingly WORSE than WB’s. They’d love it if someone could take that debt off their hands, and have been looking for buyers for about a year now. WB Discovery was reported as being interested at one point, but seems to have backed off. Thank goodness; reducing the number of movie studios yet again would be terrible. No, wait…this new potential buyer, Sony ALSO owns a studio already, darrrrrrn! Sony is a bit of a curveball, because up to now they’ve kept out of the whole “spend trillions of dollars
Believer (2018) and Believer 2 (2023)
Believer (2018) and Believer 2 (2023) are Korean movies, categorized as Crime, Action and Thriller, and are both streaming on Netflix. In both movies, the bad guys and the good guys are still looking for the mysterious “Mr. Lee”. ♦ Believer (2018): Lee and Laika (Part 1) In “Believer”, Won-Ho, a brave and dedicated detective along with his brave and dedicated investigative team goes deep undercover to try to catch a notorious drug kingpin known as “Mr. Lee”. They have a huge blindspot because … nobody has ever seen “Mr. Lee” so they don’t know what he looks like. It’s not just the good guys who have never seen Mr. Lee. The bad guys don’t know who he is or what he looks like either. Mr. Lee is represented by his most trusted employee, a young man named Seo Young-Rak. This guy is super smart and efficient. He handles everything from the product manufacturing process to selling to customers to shipping to money collection. He does it all FOR Mr.
Transformers One Is A Different Kind Of Adventure
At this point the Transformers are just as well-known around the multiplex as they are around the toy aisle. There have been endless Autobot and Decepticon films of varying quality since the original came out in 1986. There has been nothing, though, quite like the animated picture Transformers One, which Paramount and Hasbro unveiled today with its first trailer. How do you feel about this: a wacky buddy comedy starring Optimus Prime and Megatron, in the days before they were enemies? That’s where this goes, and though there are adventure and action elements hinted at in the trailer, this is a comedy through and through. Every scene is punctuated by a “whoa, did THAT happen?” remark, which isn’t exactly sophisticated humor, but better than what Bay came up with. Seems Optimus wasn’t always as powerful as we know him to be….he started out as Orion Pax, an average civilian of Cybertron who could not transform. Megatron was known as D-16, and was considerably less sinister. They lived in an underground
The Witcher Will Wrap Up With Season Five
The first season of The Witcher was a huge hit for Netflix, to the point that they started promoting it alongside Stranger Things and Squid Game as one of their “icons.” Not everything works out that way, though. Every subsequent season has been a downgrade in quality from the last, and the spinoffs haven’t been any good at all (imagine getting Michelle Yeoh and wasting her). Netflix once talked about this show going on for at least a decade. But with declining interest, and the inevitable, unpopular replacement of Henry Cavill with Liam Hemsworth, it seems the writing is on the wall. The streamer has just renewed the show for Season 5, but this will be its last. Regarding Season Four, which is now in production: “After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other,” says Netflix. “If they can embrace and lead the groups
Parasyte the Grey: 2024 Sci-Fi K-Drama Only on Netflix
“Parasyte the Grey” is a Korean drama series, released in 2024, with 6 episodes, categorized as a science fiction (sci-fi) thriller, action, and could be considered horror. This is a Korean adaptation of a popular manga (“Parasyte” by Japanese author Hitoshi Iwaaki) and anime series (“Parasyte: The Maxim”). ♦ Why Do the Aliens Always Want to Eat Our Brains? In “Parasyte the Grey”, if a person had an advance warning they would probably wear earplugs. That’s how the parasyte gets into their brain. It goes through the human ear. Honestly! It’s not fair. The aliens don’t have ears. They’re just creepy crawlies like insects; insecticide spray doesn’t get rid of them and they move too fast for you to crush them with your feet. For once, having bad health is a blessing. The parasyte tried to infect Jeong Su-In and live off of her as its host. But for some reason, it didn’t make it into her brain. It seems that if you’re healthy the parasyte will make its home
One Hundred Years of Solitude coming to Netflix
One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of the best seller books deemed unfilmable because it narrates the story of a family clan for a century. It may not work as a movie but it will definitely work as a limited series. It is listed as one of the one thoussnd books you need to read before you die. Noble Peace Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez wrote this book back in 1967 and it sold over 50 million copies and got translated into 47 languages. How sad that Marquez never get to see this adaptation because he died in 2014. It is considered as one of the most important literature in history of Hispanic culture. Popstar Shakira is a huge fan of this when she was interviewed for Oprah’s Book Club back in 2004. Despite the lack of pictures, this novel is like a visual feast because it is a fever dream that plays with your imagination. One Hundred Years of Solitude Official Teaser The story begins with
AntonBlast Blasts Onto Switch November 12
Nintendo’s Indie World showcase streamed early this morning, and the games shown off were heavily on the cozy and cutesy side….with one wild, noisy exception. ANTONBLAST is finally here. We’ve been waiting for this game ever since its Kickstarter campaign happened years ago. Dynamite Anton is an irate man with a very bushy beard who “had his spirit collection stolen by the devil” (I’m just reporting what they told me). The point is that it makes him angry enough to charge through levels and obstacles like a bulldozer, blowing up everything in his path. You can play as Anton or his genderswapped doppleganger Dynamite Annie, but however you do it, you’ve got to retrace your steps doubly as quick once you reach the end — or the bomb you set will go off on you! AntonBlast looks super fun. And to everyone who ignorantly thinks this is a Pizza Tower ripoff…it’s not. The two games share a lot of similarities (shaky manic art style, beating levels as fast as possible)
What Time Is It? Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game
Adventure Time takes so much inspiration from D&D that you might wonder why it took THIS long for someone to literally put the two things together. Who knows, but it’s finally happened. Cryptozoic has launched a Kickstarter campaign for an official Adventure Time Roleplaying Game that is 5E compatible. How one plays this game is basically identical to how one plays regular D&D…there’s no gameplay reinvention here, nor would there really need to be. At the same time, it’s not just an Adventure Time skin for a D&D module. There’s the core rulebook, Prismo’s Guide To Adventures In Ooo, that establishes the setting and character roles. There are Twist Cards that will introduce random new plot elements to deal with. There are twenty species with twelve subclasses, adventure prompt tables and more. Higher tiers will receive the Adventure Book as a bonus, that contains one major quest to venture into….and some Jake-shaped dice. While Adventure Time: The Roleplaying Game is fine for players of all skill levels, this product actually

Hell exists, Velma Season 2 Trailer
Velma is returning because life is unfair. No show has faced such unanimous scorn from both critics and audiences as Velma. Typically, when a show garners this level of disdain, it’s swiftly canceled before the season concludes. Yet, against all odds, this Mindy Kaling-led production was granted an unexpected green light—and the reason is quite unconventional. Enter the phenomenon of hate-watching—a curious trend where viewers subject themselves to content they dislike, only to later vent their frustrations online. Instead of simply tuning out, individuals persist in watching, perhaps driven by morbid curiosity or a desire to join the discourse. This influx of online animosity paradoxically fueled interest, creating a ripple effect that drew even more eyes to the screen. And, ironically, those who initially set out to despise the show inadvertently contributed to its viral success by generating reaction videos and amplifying its reach. Velma, a spin-off of the beloved Scooby-Doo franchise, positioned the iconic character as its lead. However, attempts at diversifying the cast, such as making Velma Indian
